I don't do much but when I do, I spend a night on the town with "Triple D's". That's drinks, dinner, and dancing. I usually choose my restaurants by the sound of it's name and how closely located it is to Detroit. If the name of the restaurant is not a dead give away as to what the menu might include, sometimes I look up the menu on the web. So far I have been spot on with my choice of restaurants. I've discovered good food, reasonable prices, courteous waitresses and waiters and the most important factor is the atmosphere.
I don't know about you guys, but, I don't care how good the food is, if the atmosphere isn't comfortable, relaxing, or sexy I don't want to be there. I dislike it very much when I go to a restaurant and the waitresses are not neatly groomed. If the glass and mirrors are smeared and you can't see out of them, just how well do you think they store food. For me, I need to feel welcomed and appreciated when I dine somewhere.
My recent discovery is in Dearborn. It's called O'sushi and oh is the sushi so fresh and good. It is located about a half a mile from Fairlane Mall on Michigan Avenue. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, The restaurant is small but there's plenty of elbow room. The menu consists of your normal sushi rolls and 8 signature rolls. I ordered the Sumurai Roll the first time I went there and I ate it so fast that I probably took a bite, two chews and swallowed. Seriously it was that good. On my next visit, I ordered a Mexican Spicy Roll. I had never had spicy sushi besides dipping it in spicy mayo sauce. So, I was eager to taste this sushi roll. It was really spicy yet you could still taste the fish. It was good too but it would have to satisfy a craving instead of being a favorite of mine.
As far as drinks go, I ordered a beer and it was $4.00. I ordered coffee and it was $2.50. The average cost for sushi is $10.00. The average pieces in a roll is six. I like the sushi. I like the setting. The service needs improvement. They have one waitress and you pay on the way out.
